Happy Women’s History Month

As we celebrate Women’s History Month, let’s honor the women who didn’t just follow fashion, they transformed it.

There was a time when women were expected to dress for restriction, not freedom. Then came bold visionaries who changed everything.

Designers like Coco Chanel, who liberated women from corsets and introduced relaxed tailoring that allowed movement and independence.

Yves Saint Laurent may have designed Le Smoking, but it was women who made the tuxedo powerful, redefining femininity through suiting.

Valdes Wynn Valdes taught costume designing skills and facilitated fabric donations to the student workshops. Additionally, she was one of the founders of the National Association of Fashion Accessory Designers, an industry group intended to promote black talent in the fashion industry.

Diane von Fürstenberg gave us the wrap dress, a silhouette that celebrated the female form while allowing women to work, move, and live fully.

Icons like Audrey Hepburn and Rihanna didn’t just wear clothes, they shifted conversations about elegance, individuality, and ownership of style.

Fashion has always mirrored society and these women reshaped both.

The way we dress today, comfortably, confidently, intentionally; is built on their courage.
